Applicants must be in grades 9-12, have a "C" average with no "F's", and be approved by a faculty screening panel. Members will be involved in basic activities of military and law enforcement training and will receive an official NRA ( National Rifle Association) designation upon course completion. Interested individuals need to obtain an application form from Mr. Moody.

National Honor Society (NHS)

This year Hurley has 7 students in the National Honor Society. They are Cortney Conrad, TJ Gold, Becca Hair, Carissa Holden, Mariah Jennings, Shannon Jones, Victoria Loden, Kelsi Lupton, Nick Sutton, and Bailee Wright.  These students are encouraged to do 25 hours of community service for each school year. To get into National Honor Society, students have to have a 3.0 Grade Point Average by the end of their sophomore year, and recommendations from teachers. Students who respond to the invitation will fill out a form and then at the end of the school year sit before faculty and answer some questions. Then the faculty will vote to see if the student deserves the award.

The NHS sponsor is Katie Clopton.
